The song was written by Rebecca whilst attending a song writing workshop with age positive, songwriters forum “Talent is Timeless” led by Founder and Director Saskia Griffiths-Moore, exploring the theme “All I really want”.
Rebecca says the song “Music Maker” is as much a personal statement of how she feels about her later life venture into music creation as it is a soul & blues infused blend of vocals, mandolin, drums, piano and guitar.
“I started thinking about the things I’d already achieved in my life outside of music and whether they brought me real joy. It was something of an epiphany, expressed through this song that my happiest place is getting lost in a new chord sequence or exploring how to express how I really feel through lyrics. The icing is playing it to audiences and hearing their feedback. The interaction and connection through music is something Ive really fallen in love with”.
